Cameroun's West has managed to preserve its ancient traditions very well. Today, one discovers that these old social organizations are as important as ever. Indeed, in the majority of villages one can find traditional chiefdoms still perpetuating the way of life and ceremonies of their ancestors.

The area is also extremely rich from the agricultural point of view, and abounds with uniquely tasty fruits and vegetables

Program

Day 1
After breakfast, visit of the Caplain plantations [1]. Developped by an European couple established in Cameroon, it comprises many species of plants, trees and tropical flowers, exported today everywhre around the world. Continuation to the EKOM waterfalls, where the shooting of the famous film TARZAN took place. Departure to Bafoussam, dinner and night at the hotel.

Day 2
After breakfast, visit to the chiefdom of Foumban [3]. King Njoya is a great ancestor of the Bamoun who in his reign invented a writing for his people. Discovery of the artisanal centre where a wide range of beautiful objects are sold. Dinner and night at a hotel.

Day 3
After a stop at the MIFI waterfall, continuation to Bafut. It will be a privilege to be warmly welcomed by one of the queen of the chiefdom [4], [5]. Spectacle of traditional dance. Departure to Bamenda, the capital of the Anglophone area. Visit of the main market. Dinner and night at the hotel.

Day 4
Visit of the Bandjoun chiefdom [6], well-known for its beautifuly sculpted pillars, and of the musuem there. Discovery of Mouankeu waterfalls; a panoramic view of the Bana slope. Continuation to Douala.
