Indeed, in the majority of villages one can find traditional chiefdoms still perpetuating the way of life and ceremonies of their ancestors. The area is also extremely rich from the agricultural point of view, and abounds with uniquely tasty fruits and vegetables.
What we propose is a total immersion in the Bamiléké culture, and thus the discovery of a completely different cultural universe from within. You will live with a family, of which you will become a full member for the duration of your stay. This family, choosen especially for you, makes a point of preserving the essence of ancestral traditions. But it is also grounded in the cardinal virtues that make community possible: hospitality, kindness, and affection.
At the end of your stay, your host-family is no longer remote, nor foreign, even less friendly: its members are now your relatives in the very heart of Africa. You will take part in the activities of everyday life: preparing meals, tapping palm wine, harvesting and grubbing, making clothes, baskets, cupboards, chairs and objects of art. You will also become familiar with the local food market, and visit the nearby villages and chiefdoms.
