Excusion to the Ebogo Reserve

Itinerary: Yaounde-Mbalmayo-Yaounde

Mbalmayo is situated south of the central province at the intersection of the cities Sangmelima and Ebolowa. This is an industrial city with factories of wood processing. It is also a city with many tourist attractions such as:

  • Ebogo, the richness of a tropical forest from your boat.
  • Caves of Akok Beko which have become a place of pilgrimage.
  • The first Catholic Church in Cameroon in Akono to name a few.

PROGRAM

Stage 1: Hotel - Mbalmayo: exploring the city

  • After breakfast, departure from your hotel to visit the monuments of the city of Yaounde (Independence, Reunification, the Cross of Lorraine, etc.).
  • Departure for Mbalmayo, we take the road south of Cameroon for a distance of 50 km. Check-in Mbalmayo, visit the arts center where we can buy some art objects.

Stage 2: Akono - Ebogo nature and explore the wildlife

  • Continue to Akono to visit the first Catholic Church in Cameroon, where General De Gaulle lived during the Franco-German war in our country. We will be guided by a priest or the parish priest.
  • Return to Mbalmayo, stop Akok Beko to see the pygmy caves. This has become a place of pilgrimage for Christians.
  • Continue to Ebogo, about twenty miles from Mbalmayo. We will take an unmaintained road.
  • We will discover the Nyong River and the forest reserve in the company of Mbalmayo canoe to Ebogo: dozens of species of birds and butterflies will be seen.
  • There are places such as Sapelli tricentennial the undergrowth, the So'o River.
  • Lunch of grilled fish at Nyong.

Stage 3: Mbalmayo - Mefou Park-Yaoundé: flora and fauna

  • Return to Mbalmayo and continue towards Yaounde.
  • On the way, we detour (10 km) to reach the park Mefou where we can see different types of primates in a transition zone between the forest and the zoo.
  • Back in Yaounde at the end of the day
